I'm sure almost everyone has heard of this book or seen it around on the bestselling lists at bookstores. It was first published in 1989 and has since sold more than 25 million copies worldwide.
I'm a little embarrassed to say that I haven't read it earlier in my younger days, but I'm very glad I finally did.
After all, better late than never!
If you enjoy reading, like me, but can't seem to find any quiet moments in the day to sit down and enjoy a good book, then I highly recommend you try out Amazon's Audible.
If you enjoy listening to music, like me, but dislike reading, I would also highly recommended you to try out Audible.
Basically, Audible is a platform to purchase audio books instead of e-books or hard copy books.
I've found this to be very useful because I can listen to books when I'm driving.
I can spend quite a lot of time on the road chauffeuring the children or traveling for work appointments.
I feel like I'm maximizing my time on the road by listening to motivational and inspiring books. It lifts up my spirits and stimulates my mind.
The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People is a great book for anyone, in fact, everyone.
As long as you have the slightest interest in making improvements in your life, getting more organized and setting your priorities straight; or improving the way you relate with people, regardless of family, friends or co-workers; or simply curious to find out how this book published more than 30 years ago can still be on the best selling list -- please grab a copy in whatever format you fancy.
The world is ever changing yet these 7 habits, because they are what the author calls as principles, are timeless and universal and can be applied in any situation.
This also includes parenting situations and being a more effective parent.
I'm actually pleasantly surprised by the number of examples given by Mr. Covey that are very relatable to parents, not just at the workplace.
Well, all of us wear many hats. So when we incorporate these habits into our lives to be more effective people, naturally we become more effective parents, employees, bosses, entrepreneurs etc.
It is, however, not an overnight transformation to become effective in practicing all of the 7 habits. It is a journey of growth.
If you want this year to be better than the last, or for yourself to be a better version tomorrow than yesterday, this book provides practical ways on how you can achieve that. (Read: Book Recommendation: Unseen)
