Child mortality rates are really low in developed countries in current times, and this is indeed something to be very thankful for! Medical advancements have helped to provide very good treatment and high recovery rates, even for serious illnesses in young children. Not to forget the nationwide vaccination programmes, which have helped to eradicate some very contagious and fatal diseases.
Babies come in a seemingly small and vulnerable package yet have such strong wills to survive, from the moment they took in their first breath of air from outside the mother's womb. Many parents have means to provide their children with a very comfortable or even luxurious home, afford organic foods, and various baby enrichment and entertainment, including baby yoga, baby massage, gym classes etc. Some of us might get lost in the frenzy of signing up for various classes for our baby, wanting to nurture a genius or some champion athlete, way before we discover what our child is truly interested in. It's a great blessing if you have the means to ‘invest’ in your child. But please don't forget to enjoy your child for who they are and allow them space and freedom to explore and discover their innate interests and talents.
The world is already spinning very quickly, don't let your child's days spin away in the blink of an eye. Don't forget that every new day is a blessing in itself ; that we can hug and kiss our baby who's growing healthily; that we can take our baby out for grocery shopping and not be hiding from a civil war right at our doorsteps; that our child can befriend someone of a different race or religion without being discriminated against; that we can just snuggle in bed with our little one and bask in their chiming giggles. Sometimes work may get us so worn out by the time we get home.
But I hope you will always find precious pockets of time to enjoy your child and appreciate all the little blessings that each new day brings. @mumpreneur264
