It's the last week of June Holidays! Are there any other parents cheering like me? If you are looking for something fun to do with the children, why not bring them to the very family-friendly City Square Mall! It's located above Farrer Park MRT station on the North-East Line.
I love shopping at Cotton On Kids and Uniqlo and they are both found at City Square Mall! If you are looking for hiking sandals, running shoes, swimwear and other sports equipment including kids' bicycles, roller-skates and scooters, they can be found at Decathlon at City Square Mall! There is a wide range of sports apparel for both adults and children at very affordable prices!
For family-friendly restaurants at City Square Mall, check out Man Le Hotpot and Old Town White Coffee. Man Le offers Teochew Porridge buffet during lunch time is priced at $12.90+ for adults and $8.90+ for children age 6 to 12 years. They have a wide range of dishes and they are all tasty!
From now until 24th June 2018, spend $60 and above in a single receipt, you can redeem a Power Squad activity booklet for free! In addition, you can receive a FREE pass to the Power Squad Carnival at City Square Mall. If you are a PASSION card member, you can get an additional FREE pass for the Power Square Carnival.
Here's the Power Squad Carnival at City Square Mall. There are three sections, one featuring Dora the Explorer, one featuring Nella the Princess Knight, and the other featuring Blaze and the Monster Machines. All your children's favorite cartoon characters on Nick Junior!
There's a bouncy castle at the section for Nella the Princess Knight, as well as an inflatable unicorn race. My boys are not tall enough to carry out the unicorn race though. Their legs are not long enough for them to be able to sit on the inflatable unicorns and bounce to move forward.
There is an inflatable slide which ends in a huge ball pit with a gigantic inflatable Blaze. It looks really cool but the slide was too hot under the hot sun on the afternoon that we were there, so the boys didn't play on the slide. But we still kept the carnival passes and we can still visit by 24th June to play on the Blaze slide!
In the section for Dora the Explorer, there wasn't any inflatable Dora, but there were inflatable balls and columns that were lit and changed colours. The boys had fun running through the inflatable column maze as well as jumping on the circles to make them change colors. Best part? It is in a huge tent which means the children won't have to be in the blistering heat!
There was also Power Square 'live' on stage which took place until 17th June. The children had fun seeing Dora the Explorer with her best friend, Boots, and her cousin, Diego.
There was also Nella the Princess Knight and all the children present became little princess knights and prince knights!
Saying "I'm a prince knight!"
Once upon a time, I thought to myself, I would not bring my kids to watch these 'live' performances on stage, and squeeze with the crowd and be amongst squealing little children.
Now I'm on the lookout for such events during the holidays to bring my kids to! Be there 30 minutes ahead of time to get a seat, watch the performance for 30 minutes, then go for a snack or do some grocery shopping, and half a day is gone!
