One of my most depressing post-partum moments was witnessing the amount of hair falling from my head. During pregnancy, our hair gets fuller and thicker, and as hormonal levels change after delivery, the hair starts to fall out. I could be washing my hair, and after the shower, I would see so much hair clogging up the drain trap. Handfuls would also fall out as I brushed and blow-dried my hair. The sight was simply awful to behold. The worst part was that it lasted for over six months from around four months after delivery. I was really upset that my hair was thinning and the hairline near my temples was receding. It definitely felt like more hair was lost than the amount gained during pregnancy.

To reduce the hair loss, I indulged in scalp and hair treatment and also cut my hair short. I honestly don't know how effective the anti-hair loss treatment was, but with shorter hair, it does seem like hair loss was reduced. But I did enjoy those bi-monthly hair salon visits and felt better about myself with a new hairdo. Shorter hair always helps to make me look younger too!

I understand if you also feel bothered by the amount of post-partum hair loss you are experiencing. This would be a perfectly legitimate reason to perhaps indulge in some hair or scalp treatment and refresh your look with a new hairdo! Whatever it is, hang in there, my friend! The good news is, this will definitely pass.
