My family has had three family photoshoots so far, one for each addition of a new family member. Even though it's so easy to capture wonderful moments of family time together and the daily activities and milestones of our little children with our very handy mobile phones these days, nothing beats going for a professional photo shoot.
These days, many families go for family photoshoots every one to two years to document their family's growth and journey. Indeed, well-taken photographs from these professional photoshoots are wonderful keepsakes and family heirlooms that can be kept and passed on from one generation to the next. When printed out on good quality canvases, these photographs can also act as beautiful decorations displayed on the walls, adding to the warmth and coziness of your home.
We had our latest studio family photo shoot with Orange Studios. It isn't easy trying to get one toddler to cooperate because they may be fearful at an unfamiliar environment, and their moods can be unpredictable. What's more, we have three children under 5 years! It certainly is no easy feat taking group photos with these three little monkeys. Talk about a very challenging task for our photographers!
The wonderful couple behind Orange Studios is Ryan and Winifred. Being a married couple certainly helps with having great chemistry as they work together. They welcomed us warmly to the studio when we arrived, and allowed us time to settle the kids down. It is very important to get the children to warm up to the photographers and feel comfortable in order for them to have an enjoyable time taking the photographs as well as allow the photographers to capture their best moments. Ryan and Wini were very patient with my children. They took time to chat with my boys and showed them around the studio, answering their incessant questions about the equipment they saw.
After finding out that my boys like songs from 'Trolls' the movie, Wini also played the music in the background. My boys got excited and started dancing around. They were certainly relaxed and happy as Ryan snapped away on his camera. Wini has a wonderful way with the kids and managed to get them to smile.
The one-hour photoshoot saw us in two outfits. There were multiple permutations including solo shots for the children, group shots of our family of 5, as well as shots of the grandparents with the children. There was so much going on because there were a total of 7 people at the shoot, and my boys were very active while my daughter wasn't always cooperative. Yet Ryan and Wini managed to make us feel very comfortable at the shoot and unhurried.
We really love the results of our family photo shoot. We have some candid shots which really captured the children's personalities. I know very well that my children are growing up so fast, even though on most days it can feel rather dreadful taking care of them. But having these photographs will always remind us of our children's innocence, wonder and amazement at the world, and how affectionate they are at this tender age. After all, there may come a time when they no longer think it's cool to be hugging and kissing mummy so much. So these photographs are indeed very, very precious to capture all these fleeting moments!
